Joyce Conner Johnson

Johnson, Joyce Conner, passed away on March 11, 2012, at age 95, the only child of Harry and Marie Rigg Conner. Joyce was a native Daytonian, a graduate of Stivers High School, Class of 1934. She began her working career at Leland Electric. She worked for the Talbott Corporation and retired from the John W. Galbreath Co, Columbus, Ohio on December 31, 1981. During her working years, she was active in the local chapter of the National Association of Accountants as well as the Pilot Club International in both Dayton and Columbus. She volunteered with the Alzheimer's Association and the Corner Cupboard. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dayton since December 26, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by many friends and cousins: including friends at First Baptist Church especially Deborah Circle, friends and staff , Hospice of Dayton, and Mary of the Beauty Shop at The Suites of Walnut Creek, Pat Baumgart, George and Charlene Bayless, Laura Bayless, Forrest Brown, Elizabeth Chaffee Carras, Jeanette Chaffee, Stephen and Lizette Chaffee, Karen and Mark Crabtree, Linda and Merl Cummins, Christine and Stephen Ersing, Barbara Chaffee Fettee, Charlie and Connie Fisher, Dorothy Frysinger, Mary Greenlee, David Greenlee jr, Martha, John and Becky Grosh, Brian Hoeft, Elizabeth Hoeft, Bob Hutchinson, Pam Imboden, Patricia Jayson, Ken Johnson, Carolyn Lenz Lambert , Jim Lenz, Phil and Carol Lilly, Marilyn McMullan, Dorothy Morgan, Elinor Narcross, Gretchen & Rob Queen, Brenda Rice, Billie Rigg, Joseph Rigg, Karl and Joanie Rigg, Mary Bell Rigg, Ralph and Vivian Rigg, Kay Robinson, Jane and Doug Rommel, Marianne and Nick Rosenkranz, Robert Roland, Ruthie Rutherford, Amy and Eric Saylor, Bev Schwieterman, Thomas and Ellie Shulman, Katherine Smith, Joan and Phil Smith, Bill Studor / Joanne Nichols, Rebecca and Chuck Theobald, Andrew Theobald, Margaret Theobald, Sarah Theobald, Jacqui and Jerry Theobald, Mary Toennesen, Nancy Warman, Jean Wean, Phyllis Weber and Pat Wunderle. A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Dayton, 111 W. Monument Avenue, Dayton 45402, 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. A gift in celebration of the life of Joyce Conner Johnson can be made to First Baptist Church of Dayton.
