Joyce Evelyn Breckenridge

BRECKENRIDGE, Joyce Evelyn (Bolles), age 89, was called home on Saturday, June 29, 2013 after suffering a stroke. She was born February 24, 1924, daughter of the late Aldeth Smith and Theron Bolles. Joyce was a graduate of George Washington High School in Los Angeles, CA in June of 1941. She is also preceded in death by her step-father, Jay Low and step-sister, Blanche (Bernice) Stickle of Las Vegas, NV. Joyce is survived by her devoted husband and lifelong "Sweetheart" of over 71 years, Louis Carl Breckenridge. She was a devoted homemaker and loving mother to daughters, Bonnie Cogan of Huber Heights, OH, Cathleen (Ron) Bohnlein of Scottsdale, AZ, Raelene (Earl) Chivers of Huber Heights, OH and son, Terry (Sandy) Breckenridge of Morrow, OH; six grandchildren, Sue (Cogan) Rumph of MI, Tony (Wendy) Cogan of GA, Ivy (Nick) Gerbis of Eau Claire, WI, Erin (Apple) (Greg) Baker of Huber Heights, OH, Trevor Breckenridge of Newark, OH and Kimberly Chivers of Huber Heights, OH; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Baker, Natalee and Chase Breckenridge, Gracie Whitney and Emma Stoner of GA as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many loving friends. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. Family will greet friends one hour before the service and also for a reception following the service until 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4440 Lake Forest Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45242, the Alzheimer's Association, 3797 Summit Glen Dr., Dayton, OH 45449 or to the Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420. The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Lutheran Village for their loving care and understanding and to the Hospice of Dayton who helped her find comfort, contentment and peace.
