PALMERT, Julia, A., of Dayton passed away Friday, June 30, 2006 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Gladys Raney, and brothers, Robert and Joseph Raney. Julia is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Daniel Palmert; daughters, Milissa Elsass (David Bruce), and Leslie (Ken) Mann; son, Mark (Sarah Alexander) Palmert; 5 grandchildren, Logan, Bryson, Sasha, Graham, and Tessa; 1 sister, Dorothy Bachus; father-in-law, Edward Malone; and several nieces and nephews. Julia received her undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton and Master’s degree from Ohio State University. She taught at the University of Dayton and was chairperson of the Home Economics and Human Ecology Departments at the University. She was instrumental in founding the Children’s Center at the University of Dayton, past president of the Christ Child Society, member of the Dayton Women’s Club, and both the American and Ohio Dietetics Associations. The family would like to thank the caregivers in the ICU and Palliative Care Units at Good Samaritan Hospital for their care and compassion. Private memorial services for family only.
