Juliette Agatha Soanes

SOANES, Juliette Agatha Hodge, age 82, a long time resident of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Bethany Lutheran Village Memory Care Unit in Centerville, OH. Juliette obtained a nursing certificate but worked mostly as a sales clerk first at the Mahogany Run Furniture Store, then at the pharmacy until she retired in 2000. In her spare time, she would help her husband in the family upholstery business and work in her garden where she planted various fruits, vegetables, and flowers that she often shared with her neighbors. Juliette was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend who loved to laugh, read the Bible, and sing praises to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She attended and actively served at St. Andrew's Church and the Methodist Church in the Virgin Islands. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Leonard Soanes; her parents, Joseph and Atheal Hodge; her brother, Eddy Hodge; and two sisters, Stephany Hodge and Ruth Gumbs. Juliette is survived by her children, Darnley, Jasmine, Joseph, Clyde, Keith, Desmond, and Dr. Rosamond Soanes; son-in-law, Ronald Joseph; sister, Beatrice Harris; brother, Samuel Hodge; eight grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. Family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at David's Cemetery.
