June Barnhill

BARNHILL, E. June age 86, of Centerville formerly of Flint, MI and Hamden, OH, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. June was an active member and volunteer for Normandy United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. June married her loving husband of 67 years, Hugh R. Barnhill, Sr. on June 21, 1947 in Hamden, OH. Hugh is a WWII Veteran and they resided in Chillicothe, OH before moving to Centerville, OH in 1974. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Audrey Taborn and brothers, Don, Pat and Orville Taborn. She is survived by her husband Hugh Barnhill Sr.; sons, Hugh Barnhill Jr. of Washington Court House and Jeffery S. Barnhill of Pensacola, FL; daughter, Rebecca Zutterling of Miamisburg; grandchildren, Elizabeth (David) Lynn of Lancaster, PA, Ashley Barnhill of Cincinnati, OH, Amanda (Brian Brown) Zutterling of West Carrolton, OH, Jason (Jennifer) Zutterling of Lewis Center, OH and Mark and Luke (Olivia) Barnhill of Pensacola, FL; great-grandchildren, Ethan Zutterling, Tyler Brown, Brittany Wright, Syrah Wright, Aiden Barnhill; great-great-grandchild, Isaiah Lay; special family members, son-in-law, Bruce Zutterling, daughters-in-law, Dianne Barnhill and Tammy Barnhill; former daughter-in-law, Linda Barnhill. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2:00pm at Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 W. Alex Bell Rd., Centerville with Rev. Jim Riggs and Rev. Harvey Smith officiating. June's family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the memorial service at 2:00. Inurnment will be at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, OH at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Normandy United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 450 W. Alex Bell Rd., Centerville, OH 45459 or to Hospice of the Miami Valley, 46 N. Detroit Ave., Suite B, Xenia, Ohio 45385. The family would like to express their most heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice of the Miami Valley and Patty Reed for her untiring assistance in the care of June and Hugh.
