PURSLEY, K. Louise (nee Carter) age 90 of Beavercreek, OH and former long-time resident of Lexington, MA, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton, OH. A member of the great generation, she supported the WWII effort at the Watertown Arsenal. Mrs. Pursley retired from the Post Office after 15 years, and in retirement she enjoyed baking, family activities, and games. An avid traveler, she has seen the Egyptian pyramids, Eiffel Tower, and Greek Isles. Many of her greatest pleasures came from driving the country roads of New England. She routinely brought joy to all of us who shared her life. Louise was caring, compassionate, courageous and was fun to be with. She will be dearly missed. Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert J. Pursley; daughter, Jean A. Tom; sister, Ruby O. Phillips; brothers, John and Allen Carter. Louise is survived by her sister, Ambrozine Layne; grandchildren: Lloyd (Lyn) Greene, Miriam Pursley, Troy Wallace; great-granddaughter: Deanna Greene; nephews: Leonard (Naomi) and Cameron (Ann) Layne; great-niece and nephew: Elisabeth Layne and Nathanael Layne. Family will receive friends at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at A.J. Spears Funeral Home, 124 Western Ave., Cambridge, MA, 02139. Following the viewing, a graveside service will be held 11:00 AM at Westview Cemetery in Lexington, MA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Dr., Dayton, OH 45420. Condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family in care of A.J.
