HUFFMAN, Karen Sue (Wingeier), age 79, a longtime Pataskala resident, passed away on September 15, 2023.
Karen was born on September 5th, 1944 to the late Fredrick and Olive (Heskett) Wingeier, in Columbus, OH. After graduating from Watkins Memorial High School, where she was the 1962 class president, she went on to attend The Ohio State University. While working for the University, she met her future husband of nearly 55 years, Thomas E. Huffman.
Karen was a leader in the Pataskala community for many years. She was an active member of the Pataskala United Methodist Church until her retirement. She was also a founding member of the “60 Plus” organization that brought the senior community of Pataskala together, where she organized and led trips around the globe. Later in life she was a well known Realtor for Mid Ohio Properties where she built communities around central Ohio. She also sat on the Executive Board of Buckeye Valley BIA, and was a proud member of PEO International. Her numerous accomplishments include being the first female Service to Mankind award recipient for the local LaSertoma Club and Million dollar sales award. She forever touched the lives of anyone who had the honor of meeting her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas E. Huffman, on January 7, 2023.
Karen is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Megan) and their two daughters, Cora and Quinn; son, Bradley (Shannon), and their five children: Sofia, Braden (and their mother Laura), Madison, Caleb, and Isabella; loving sister Betty Kay (Wingeier) Wooten.
