STEIN II, Karl A. (“Butch” “Pops”), age 70, a resident of Oakwood, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at The Hospice of Dayton.
Karl was a graduate of Oakwood High School and Miami University, where he graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He worked for Frigidaire, NCR, and UD. Karl was the creator and founder of Facial Sensation Products, where he invented and developed skin care brushes.
Karl was a member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church, TaWaSi Business Networking Group, Criterion Club, and Shafor-Shufflers Walking/Jogging Group. He was known as “Mr. Go To” for help, because if he couldn’t do it, he knew someone who could, always seeing projects through. He enjoyed people, golf, and many sports, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals and Reds, and the Dayton Dragons. His favorite teams to watch, however, were those of his grandchildren, and his most rewarding time was spent with his family and friends around “his” pool as well as at other social gatherings such as Kramer’s, fish fries and family gatherings.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Phyllis Stein. Karl is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diana; sons, Skip (Jill) Stein and Kirk Stein; daughter, Jenni Stein; grandchildren, Kody, McKenzie, Karson, and Olivia; sister, Judy (Tom) Spettel and their children Tom, Karen, and Jeff; and brother, Bob (Sally) Stein and their children Rob and Barb.
The family will greet friends from 5:00-8:00PM on Monday, August 15, 2011, at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45429.
