ANDERSON, Karl – age 93, of Kettering, OH, formerly of Boston, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Born on January 18, 1932, in Boston, MA, Karl was the son of the late Stanley and Rose Harzmovitz. He graduated from Chelsea High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class during the Korean War.
Karl dedicated 40 years of his career to Reynolds & Reynolds, where he was a master pressman, known for his dedication and craftsmanship. Outside of work, he found joy in woodworking and cooking, especially his cherished Sunday meals, which brought family and friends together. His sentimental nature, kind heart, and unwavering love for those around him will be deeply missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing him.
Karl accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and found strength and peace in his faith throughout his life. He lived with kindness, humility, and a servant’s heart, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to both his family and his faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Rose; his beloved wife, Pauline Anderson; his daughter, Traci Burke; his brothers, Walter Anderson and Stanley Harzmovitz Jr.; and his sisters, Josephine Belsar and Mildred Maxwell.
Karl is survived by his loving daughter, Kristi (David) Herlihy; his five cherished grandchildren, Courtney, Ben (Shelby), Paulie (Alex), Shannon (Steven), and Erin (Nick); and his precious great-grandchildren, Navy Marie and Kaylann. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Paelian, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will hold his memory close to their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45429, followed by a memorial service to honor Karl’s life. Reception to follow. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Karl’s memory to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420, or to the American Cancer Society, Montgomery-Greene-Preble Unit, 40 S. Perry St., Suite 120, Dayton, OH 45402.
Karl’s legacy of love, warmth, and devotion to family and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
