Katherine Abfalter

ABFALTER, Katherine "Mandy" age 18, of Kettering passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Children's Medical Center. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and involved with youth ministry. Mandy attended Fairmont High School and she was active with TOPS Soccer, Camp Discovery and the Special Olympics. Mandy also volunteered at the Job Training Center Clothes that Work. When not helping others she loved music and always kept her music close at hand. Mandy enjoyed traveling on family vacations. She was preceded in death by her sister, Alice in 1980. Mandy is survived by her parents, Garry and Melanie; 4 sisters, Patricia of Columbus, Kendra (Curt Dial) Abfalter of IA, and Theresa (Mike) Lawson of Dayton and Shellee (James) Halton of VA; 7 nieces and nephews; grandmother, Georgia Mundell of IL, several aunts and uncles and her faithful canine companion, "Jentry" who was her service dog. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd. Kettering. Family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 10-11:00 AM prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Immune Deficiency Foundation, 40 W.
