Katherine G. Bacas

BACAS, Katherine G., age 97, of Oakwood passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013. Katherine was born in Alea, Greece on July 15, 1915 to the late George and Georgia Marinakes. She was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and was active in Philoptochos, GAPA and Daughters of Penelope. She worked for many years as a seamstress for Billie Lewis & BMT. Katherine loved to entertain and you couldn't leave her house without being fed and having a cup of Greek coffee. Katherine is preceded in death by her husband, George Bacas; brother, John Marinakes and sisters, Vasiliki Karras and Eleutheria Kordalis. She is survived by her son, Louis (Michelle) Bacas of Oakwood; daughter, Anastasia Sue Bacas of Oakwood; grandson, Robert George Bacas; granddaughters, Kathryne and Nicole Bacas; sisters, Ioanna Karvoutzi, Patricia P. Zaferes and Ourania Sakellariou and many nieces, nephews and caring friends. The family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00pm on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering with Trisagion prayers at 5:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Park North, Dayton, OH 45405. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
