Kathleen Jean Molnar

MOLNAR, Kathleen Jean, age 68, of Kettering, passed away on March 27, 2025. Kathy was born on March 12,1957 in Middletown, OH into the home of William and Jean McMahon. She graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in Applied Science from Miami University and MBA from Wright State University. Kathy was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority while attending Miami.

She spent her 30-year career at the University of Dayton serving in various Human Resources-related roles, most recently as Director of Compensation and Benefits. Kathy loved helping people as evidenced by her passion for serving faculty and staff at the University. She was committed to continued advancement of the Catholic and Marianist philosophy of education and community with her participation in the Marianist Educational Associates initiative.

She was heavily involved in the Dayton community with various board and volunteer roles in organizations such as Bergamo, Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association, Tri-Rivers Healthcare Coalition, Junior League, Dayton Art Institute, and Buckeye Trails Girl Scouts.

Kathy loved spending time with her many friends, vacationing by the water, going to plays and musicals and celebrating all things Irish. An avid Dayton Flyers basketball fan, Kathy also enjoyed attending as many games as possible.

She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jean McMahon, and husband of 38 years, Ron Molnar.

She is survived by her son, Mike (Madison) of Columbus; brother, Bill (Jean) McMahon; and many friends. Memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at St. Albert the Great Parish, 3033 Far Hills, Kettering, OH. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow at NCR Country Club, 4435 Dogwood Trail, Kettering, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ohio Hospice of Dayton.
