Kathy Darlene Shoup

SHOUP, Kathy Darlene, born on August 19, 1958, left us too soon on February 22, 2025. 

She was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of many with her kindness, humor, and infectious smile. Kathy had an incredible gift for making everyone around her feel special and loved. Those who knew Kathy will always remember her as a devoted friend and a loving family member. She was the person you could count on, ready to lend an ear or give wise words of advice to her children. She poured time and love into crafting photos albums that captured some of her favorite memories, and her Sunday breakfasts were the stuff of legends. Kathy knew how to savor life’s simple pleasures. 

She devoted her career path to UPS, working as an administrative assistant in program management, retiring after 27 years. 

Kathy loved to travel, especially to South Carolina, where she would spend time in the beautiful Isle of Palms. 

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Doris (McDaniel) Rice; and son, Michael Fink. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 37 years, Bryan Shoup; children, Angelic (Patrick) Fink, Samantha Shoup, and Bryan (Shelby) Shoup Jr.; grandchildren, Shawn, Kilie, Aidin, Adysen, Raelynn, Aurora, Amaiyah, and baby Leo; sisters, Debbie (Rocky) Pelletier, Judy Rice, and Donna Rice; niece, Amanda Harold, and numerous extended family and friends, all of whom will hold her memory close to their hearts. She may no longer be physically present, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our lives.

Family will greet friends Wednesday, February 26 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Services to celebrate Kathy’s life will begin at 3:00pm at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mike and Stacy, members of the Kettering Medical Center ICU team, for their excellent care of Kathy.
