FRANKLUND, Kenneth F., 93, passed away on April 1, 2025. Ken was born on November 19, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri and was the eldest child of Kenneth and Lillian Frankenstein.

After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University, he enjoyed a fulfilling career with General Electric, retiring in 1992.

Ken was very devoted to his family and had a strong faith in the Lord. For 60 cherished years, Ken was the beloved husband of Karen (Slater) Franklund. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and friendship. Ken was a proud and loving father to his three daughters, Linda (Kent) Kinkead and Janet (Michael) Baughn, Susan (Matthew) Morgann and a doting grandfather to eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ken was very active in his church and had a passion for golf, travel, and gatherings with family and friends.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Karen and sisters Ruth Dickinson and Lois Wenthe. He is survived by his sister Judy Timper, his three daughters, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 9th, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kettering, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Endowment Fund to support its mission programs—a cause close to Ken’s heart.
