age 74, of Beavercreek, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2004. Ken was born on March 17, 1929. He was born and raised in Dayton. He served in the United States Army for four years. After completing service to his country, Ken returned to Dayton and began his career as meatcutter at Dots Supermarkets and later Imperial Foodtown. He then ventured out and became an entrepreneur, opening the Meat House in Kettering, OH. With a lot of hard work the business continued to grow and Ken later opened Kettering Meats to provide high-quality foods to local restaurants and businesses. Customers loved his smiling face and conversation. Ken retired in 1995 at the age of 65 and relished the time he could spend with his grandchildren. Throughout his retirement, Ken was actively involved in local area bowling leagues but his true hobby was woodcraft. He often made decorative items for church sales and as gifts to friends and family. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving inspiration to all who knew him. Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel and father, Kenneth Bussert. He is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen; 2 step-children and four children and their spouses; Ron (Erin) Dues of Kettering, John (Cara) Dues of Kettering, Brenda (Bill) Bucher of Danville, IL, Mike (Kim) Lakey of Sugarcreek, OH , Cindy (Randy) Saunders of Dayton, Gary (Linda) Lakey of Dayton; 16 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Sandy (John) Affatato and brother, Dick (Marie) Lakey.
