Kimberle Kay Shepherd

age 48, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2004, unexpectedly at home with her devoted dog K.C. at her side. She attended St. George’s Episcopal Church. Kim was employed with Grandview Hospital for 25 years working in the surgery department. She was an avid sports fan and was a star female athlete for Centerville High School Class of 1973. She continued her athletic career with Progressive Printers Softball Team and was a member of The State Championship Team. Kim loved fishing with her father and watching “The Sound of Music” with her mother. Kim’s passion was helping the children of Guatemala, easing their suffering and making them laugh and giving them hugs. She is survived by her partner of 20 years, Connie Jo McCarroll whom she shared a rich, full, exciting life of adventure, love and compassion. They opened new vistas with each other through travel and their love of music, art and movies. She is also survived by her parents, Fred and Dorothy Shepherd; one sister, Pam (Marc) Lamb; one brother, Chip (Laura) Shepherd; two aunts, Mary Lee Maher and Donna Shepherd; one uncle, Bob and aunt, Delores Hipp; nieces and nephews, Molly Moore, Marc and Katy Lamb and Holly and Alec Shepherd. Also surviving are Connie’s brothers and sisters and her nieces and nephews who called her “Aunt Kim.” Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 5520 Far Hills Ave., Kettering with Rev. Carol Hull officiating. Burial in David’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4-8:00 PM, Thursday at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering.
