Dayton Daily News Run: Once: Starting: Sunday , August 12th CRONIN, Larry James age 79, of Miamisburg, OH passed away on Friday, August 10, 2007 at the Kettering Medical Center. Born on December 18, 1927 to Algona Hancock and step-father Morton Hancock. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife of 48 years, Benurna. He is survived by his wife Donna Cronin; 2 sons, Todd of Milford, OH and Scott (Linda) Cronin of Showlow, AZ; daughter, Terri Cronin and son-in-law John Gorde of CT; step-children, Mike (Julie) Baker of Fairborn, OH, Cheryl Rothermund of Toledo, OH and Karen Harper of Adrian, MI; 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, special sister in law, June (David) Smith and many friends. Larry graduated from Fairview High School, Class of ’46. He was very active in planning the class reunions, dinners, picnics and the men’s monthly high school lunch. Larry served in the Army as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. He was a member of the Millennium Lodge F&AM Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, the Antioch Shrine, Order of Quatzecoatl Club, R.O.J., the Antioch Seniors and the Antioch Greeters. He worked diligently on the hospital fund drive to raise money for the Children’s Hospital. He loved the parades, dinners and everything about the Shrine. He was a member of Parkview Methodist Church, past president of the West Carrollton Rotary Club, past president and member of the 25 year Club of Winters Bank (now Chase) and the Dayton Elks Lodge # 58. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Parkview United Methodist Church, 3713 Benner Rd., Miamisburg with Pastor Brad Martin officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association of the Dayton Area, 1 Elizabeth Place, Ste. 180 Dayton, OH 45408 or to the Antioch Shrine Building Fund, 107 E.
