SULFRIDGE, Lawrence Edward, "Ed" age 83 of Kettering passed away Friday, September 28, 2012.
Ed, always engaged with people, was a woodworker, builder and handyman, a photographer, an avid bird watcher, and enjoyed playing Bridge, walking around the Kettering Rec Center, and spending time at the Kettering Senior Center. He was a 1948 Stivers High School graduate and received his Associates from Sinclair Community College.
Ed began his career at Sheffield Tool and Die and from there worked as a manufacturers' representative for Technical Equipment Sales Co for the remainder of his career.
Preceded in death in 2010 by his loving wife of 60 years, Norma L. Sulfridge, and by his parents, Andrew Ballard Sulfridge and Myrtie A. Rowland Sulfridge. Ed is survived by his daughters, Linda (Lee) Welker of Grand Rapids, MI and Karen (Mark Bettinger) Iseminger of Westfield, IN; grandchildren, Janelle Dekruyter, Erica Klein and Rachel Buit; great-grandchildren, Brendan Buit, and Elijah, Josiah, Adalyn, and Lucy Dekruyter.
A Memorial service will be held Thursday, October 4th at 6:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Family will receive friends following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3797 Summit Glen Rd., #G100, Dayton, Ohio 45449.
