Hadley, Lawrence H. passed away on June 9, 2007 at his home in Kettering after a short illness. Larry was born in Hazel Park, Michigan, and graduated from Somerville High School in New Jersey. He had a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Connecticut. Larry was an associate professor of economics at the University of Dayton, having served as department chair, academic senator, and active member of several university committees. A noted labor economist specializing in sports economics research, Larry was recently named vice president of the International Association of Sports Economists, and was an active member of various other professional economics organizations. His sense of humor, generosity, love for life, and dedication to his family made him an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Linda, son Mark and daughter-in-law Julie, son Eric and daughter-in-law Christine, and daughter Alena. Other survivors include his parents, Wayne and Virginia Hadley, sisters Christine and Karen, brother Ronald, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 14, 2007 from 5 to 8 P.M., at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. in Kettering, Ohio. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the University of Dayton Immaculate Conception Chapel on Friday at 10:00 A.M.
