BAILEY, Leah Irene, eldest daughter of the late Joel and Virginia (Thomas) Bailey, died unexpectedly New Year's Day. Leah was born September 11, 1950 to Joel and Virginia (Thomas) Bailey. She worked at the Asheville, NC VA in various capacities. Early in her career, Leah volunteered her spare time as a paramedic and firefighter, and later in life, volunteered at the Xenia Senior Center. She enjoyed cooking and loved her family deeply. Leah loved nothing more than to spoil her grandkids. Leah loved her spiritual family, and when she was not able to go anymore, she would stay connected to all the services by audio and video.
She is survived by one sister, Regina (Larry) Deese, three brothers, Keith (Andria) Bailey, Stephen Bailey, and Virgil (Karen) Bailey. One child, Janene (Tony) Musgrove and three granddaughters, Kayla, Denise and Ember that were her pride and joy. Many wonderful cousins and nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to Leah’s high school teacher and lifelong friend, Jan Dice. Special thanks to Misty from New Hope for lovingly caring for Leah.
Family will greet friends Friday, January 6 from 2:00pm-3:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, Kettering. Memorial Services will begin at 3:00pm. For those who are unable to attend, Leah’s services will be livestreamed on Routsong Funeral Home’s YouTube page. Memorial contributions may be made in Leah’s name to the Xenia Senior Center, 338 Progress Dr,. Xenia, OH 45385.
