Leo B. Schaefer

SCHAEFER, Leo B. ''Pop'', age 92 of Kettering, Ohio, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2001 at Miami Valley Hospital. Leo was born May 30, 1909 in Chickasaw, Ohio. He was president of the Glawe Awning and Tent Company for many years; an Honored Life Member of Industrial Fabrics Association International and a long time member of St. Albert the Great Parish. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Christina Schaefer; 5 brothers, Aaron (Red), Mark, Steve, Jack and Ray; 3 sisters, Anna, Josephine and Elizabeth (Lizzy); his first wife, Mary Magdalen Hautman and his second wife, Mary Naomi Spang. Survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, L. Vernon and Fredricka Schaefer of Kettering and Paul and Barbara Schaefer of Phoenix, AZ; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Christine Kane of Columbus and Mary and Alonzo Upton of Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday in St. Albert The Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
