ELSBERND, Leo J., age 69, of Centerville, passed away, Saturday, April 5, 2003. Leo received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He worked for the Cincinnati Waterworks for 15 years, then Southwestern Portland Cement Co. (now known as Cemex Corp.) until his retirement in 1996. Leo was a veteran of the Korean War in the Army/Airborne Div. of Fort Bragg, N.C. He was a longtime member of Church of the Incarnation. Leo was a member of various professional concrete organizations and a former member of the Centerville Kiwanis Club. He was a Professional Engineer in Ohio & Kentucky as well as a Professional Surveyor in Ohio. Preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Gertrude Elsbernd; sister, Betty Elsbernd. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Marian; son, Dr. Donald (Dr. Elaine Winter) Elsbernd; daughter, Kathryn (Michael) Borchers; grandchildren, Donald John 'D.J.' and Kenneth 'Kenny' Elsbernd, Amanda and Nicole Borchers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 10, 2003 at the Church of the Incarnation, 55 Williamsburg Lane, Centerville with Father Lawrence Mierenfeld officiating. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Family will greet friends from 9:30 AM until 10:45AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville.
