He graduated from St. Henry High School, where he was on the Varsity Basketball team and was President of his senior class. Les served his country in the U. S. Army. He was stationed in Oklahoma, where he made many friends while enjoying the experience and camaraderie.
Les earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Dayton, and served a long and diversified career with Frigidaire in Dayton. He was especially fond of his last few years there where one of his responsibilities was producing multiple Conferences, Award Ceremonies, and Banquets honoring High Achievers. Les loved being a member of Sycamore Creek Country Club, where he was a fixture for any live musical entertainment and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at "the Club".
After retirement, Les enjoyed travelling the United States and staying at different Bed and Breakfasts with his wife, Betty. They took these travel opportunities to visit with their son, Andrew, as well as multiple nieces and nephews along the way. He enjoyed spending time with their young families and the next generation to follow. Les always found time for golf in his later years, eagerly waiting the days he volunteered at Yankee Trace Golf Course. Les also found great fulfillment in the time he spent volunteering at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
The last several years of his life were spent at The Wellington of Dayton, where he was cared for with compassion. At the end of his life, Les was surrounded by the love of his son, brothers, sisters, and other relatives. They were all able to say goodbye and wish him Godspeed.
