KEIFER, Levi David, age 27, of Kettering, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Levi was born December 8, 1997 to Scott and Cynthia (Byrd) Keifer. A graduate of Centerville High School, he earned his associates degree at Sinclair Community College. Levi was an avid outdoorsman and believed a day inside was a day wasted. He spent his time hiking, exploring nature and most of all, fishing. His passion for the outdoors led him and his fiancée Megan to places such as Niagara Falls, the Mayan Ruins and Mammoth Cave.
Levi’s enthusiasm for fishing was infectious. He fished many charters off the East Coast as well as every local lake, catching everything from sharks to catfish. His love for animals was immense, opening his home to anything that crossed his path, including alligators, turtles, lizards, snakes, dogs, cats, and even hissing cockroaches. He recently started part-time at the Centerville-Washington Park District in addition to working full-time in dietary at St. Leonard’s for the last eleven years where he served residents who he considered family. The bonds Levi formed with the residents were deep and impactful. Levi attended Fairhaven Church and was a true believer. His bear hugs, infectious smile and kind soul were felt by everyone he met. Levi was incredibly special, he put his heart of gold into everything he did, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Linda and Harry Keifer, and Glenda Dittamore; uncle, Rudy Sturgeon, and aunt, Christy Ruffner. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Scott and Cynthia Keifer; siblings, Sarah and Ryan Keifer, and fiancée and love of his life, Megan Burkhardt.
Family will greet friends Tuesday, March 11 from 2:00pm-3:00pm at St. Leonard’s Chapel, 8100 Clyo Rd., Centerville, with services beginning at 3:00pm at St. Leonard’s. Memorial contributions may be made in Levi’s name to Christian Aid Ministries Search and Rescue, P.O. Box 360 Berlin, OH 44610.
