It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lexie Baughman, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great grandmother. Born on August 15, 1931, to Eddie and Nanny Morrow in Somerset, Kentucky, Lexie led a rich and fulfilling life that touched the hearts of many.
After graduating from Wilbur Wright High School, Lexie embarked on a journey filled with love, family, and dedication. She was married at a young age to the love of her life, Clinton Sparks, with whom she had two daughters, Deborah and Karen. Despite enduring the tragic loss of Clinton in 1957, Lexie showed incredible strength and resilience as she devoted herself to raising her daughters.
In 1967, Lexie found love once again when she met and married Duane Baughman. The couple welcomed their daughter Natalie into the world in 1968, completing their family. Lexie dedicated nearly thirty years of her life to serving as a civil servant at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
Lexie was known for her love of Scrabble, crossword puzzles, and scrapbooking, as well as her insatiable appetite for reading, often devouring up to five books a week. She cherished her close relationships with her siblings and extended family, frequently attending large family gatherings filled with joy and laughter.
Lexie is preceded in death by her first husband Clinton Sparks in 1957, her second husband Duane Baughman in 2014, and siblings Otis Morrow, Sylvia Smith, Viola Arnold, Grace Smith, Nina Martin, Glenda Evans. She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories to be carried on by her three daughters: Karen (Michael) Doyle, Deborah (Paul) Gross, and Natalie (Dale) Owens. Lexie will also be fondly remembered by her five grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be in care of Routsong Funeral home Centerville chapel (81 N Main St). Visitation will be from 11am until 1 PM Monday November 4, 2024 with a funeral service to immediately follow. In llieu of flowers please consider a donation to Ohio’s hospice of Dayton.
