Lloyd Benedict Fisher, Sr.

FISHER, Lloyd "Bud" Benedict, Sr., age 90, of Kettering, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012. Lloyd attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, and was a former parishioner of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Englewood. He retired after 35 years of service from Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Lloyd proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Navy, mostly in the South Pacific. He was a life member of the VFW, Post 9582 in Vandalia and American Legion Post 598 in Kettering. Lloyd was a contributor, supporter and "Friend" of the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Bud always prized and highly valued his family and larger extended family, and as such was an exceptionally loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Thelma, brothers, Jim and Joe Fisher, and sisters, Bonnie Coleman and Cassie Fisher. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 8 years, Dixie, daughter, Sally Walker, sons, Lloyd "Skip" (Lynne), Tom (Sharon) and Joe Fisher, grandchildren, Matt, Josh (Nikki), Stephanie (Chris), and Abby (Aaron); great-grandchildren, Mallory, Jordan, and Nathan; sisters Helen Brendel and Mary Pfeiffer; sisters-in-law, Doris and Ruth Fisher; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Dayton for their care. Family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday, July 27, 2012 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering with Father Gerald Haemmerle presiding. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross, Dayton Area Chapter, P.O. Box 517, Dayton, OH 45401 and by donating blood.
