Lloyd Eugene Penwell

PENWELL, Lloyd Eugene, age 92 of Washington Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 7, 2016. He was born in Greenfield, OH to the late Ralph and Della Penwell. Lloyd graduated in 1942 from McClain H.S. in Greenfield, OH and attended University of Dayton. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. After returning home he married the love of his life, Betty. Lloyd retired from Brown and Kroger Printing in 1993 and also worked for United Color Press for over 25 years. He was a member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church and also was a member of Masonic Lodge 784. Lloyd was an avid fisherman and enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family in his free time. He was a loving, caring, compassionate man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Penwell; and brothers, Harold and Charles Penwell. Lloyd is survived by his children, Phillip (Barbara) Penwell, Carol Smith; grandchildren, Jeremy (Nicole) Ankeney and Gavin Smith; great-grandchild, Makayla Ankeney; sisters-in-law, Millie Penwell and Kate Penwell; and many other loving relatives and friends. A visitation will be held from 5-8:00pm, Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 North Main Street, Centerville. Funeral Service to be held at 1:00pm, Friday, October 14, 2016 also at the funeral home. Burial and military honors to be held at David's Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be directed to Honor Flight Network in Lloyd's memory.
