McCOY, LOLA K. (nee Wilson) age 85, of Kettering formerly of Beavercreek, passed away on October 3, 2006 at Hospice of Dayton. Lola was a 1939 graduate of Stivers High School. She was a longtime member of the Church of the Cross United Methodist for 51 years, a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels, volunteer for the American Red Cross, a volunteer and member of the Greene County Historical Society, former district officer and active volunteer for the local United Methodist Women’s Chapter, member of 18 years for the Kettering Mother Singers and was a former Cub Scout Den Leader. Lola was preceded in death by loving husband of 43 years, Robert Lee McCoy; son, Robert Lee McCoy Jr.; parents, Chester and Grace Wilson; sister, Martha McSherry. She is survived by her sons, Michael A. (Nancy) McCoy of Plattsmouth, NE and Richard W. (Susan) McCoy of State College, PA; daughter-in-law, Suszanne McCoy; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces and 1 nephew. Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Cross United Methodist, 3121 Wilmington Pike, Kettering at 10:00AM on Friday, October 6, 2006 with Pastor John Whitaker officiating. Burial in Bellbrook Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7:30 PM on Thursday evening at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Kettering, OH 45420. Condolences may be sent to the family via the internet on www.routsong.com
