HOCHSTETLER, Lorin E., age 89 of Kettering, formerly of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Kettering Medical Center. Lorin retired from PPG Industries after 34 years. Lorin helped to found the Fairhaven Church, now a thriving mega church. He served in many capacities including Bible Hour Superintendent for 10 years, and Director of Operations and Communications for many years, donating back to the church his salary. Lorin is a Veteran of WW II having served in the Army Air Corps and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lizzie Hochstetler; his wife of 61 years, Margaret (Ryan) Hochstetler; brother, Wilson Hochstetler and sister, Beatrice. Lorin is survived by his son, Greg (Nancy) Hochstetler of Gainesville, FL; daughter, Karen (Wilbert) Pinches of Kettering; granddaughter, Lori Beth Hochstetler; grandsons, Kyle (Becky) and Jason Pinches. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008 at Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Rd., Centerville at 2 PM. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM on Sunday, December 28, 2008 from at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH and one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fairhaven Church, E-Team Missions Trip c/o the church.
