SHARP, Louis M. Lou, 93, of Kettering, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Lou was born on October 1, 1924 to Garnet and Hortense (Pugh) Sharp.
He graduated from McArthur HS in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Following his service he earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University in 1950. In Dayton, he worked as a project manager at Wright-Patterson AFB. Lou was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church and donated his time often to various causes. Lou and his wife, Marguerite, were owners of Culinary Company for 15 years. He loved golfing, photography, and was an avid aviation enthusiast. Lou was a 32nd degree Mason AASR in lodges in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Lou is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas S. Sharp, who died July 2, 1942 serving his country, and his sister, Sara E. Walters. Lou is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marguerite (Williams) Sharp; sons Tom (Nancy) and John (Cheryl) Sharp; grandchildren Courtney (Kevin) Najimi, Madeline Sharp, and Andrew Sharp; and various extended family.
A service will be held at 2pm on Saturday February 17, 2018 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd, Kettering, OH 45429, with a visitation held an hour prior. Inurnment at Davids Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christ Church Organ Fund, 3440 Shroyer Rd, Kettering, OH 45429.
