Louise R. Kantner

KANTNER, Louise R., age 94, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. Louise was born on March 25, 1920 in Wapakoneta, OH to the late George and Ruth (Myers) Kantner. She retired from NCR where she worked in the payroll department. Following her retirement, Louise and her mother made custom costumes and Santa suits and also collected and restored dolls. She was an 80-year member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Louise is preceded in death by her sister, Margaret O'Hara and nephew, Larry O'Hara. She is survived by her cousin, Carol Gerhard; great niece and nephews, Cheryl, Ron, and Michael; her cat and lap buddy, Happy; close friend, Jackie Watkins; companion and caregiver, Kathy Stanze; and numerous other cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. Family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Road, Dayton, OH 45417 or to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420. The family would like to thank the staff at Walnut Creek, especially Robin and Taylor and Hospice of Dayton; Richard Trehuba who helped her tremendously with her home; cousin, Linda Cooper; and special cousin and caregiver, Susan Taylor.
