SPENCER, Lowell Thomas of Kettering, OH, known as “Tom” to his friends and family, passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Tom was born on May 6, 1941, to Richard and Bethel Spencer in Menifee County, KY. One of seven children, he had four brothers and two sisters. At a young age, the family moved to New Lebanon, OH, where Tom spent most of his childhood. When he was 14 years old, they relocated to Fairborn, where he met his future wife, Sharon Montgomery.
Tom graduated from Fairborn High School and followed his passion for drawing by serving as a draftsman for Montgomery County for 38 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing a variety of sports such as softball, bowling, and golf. Tom was an avid Ohio sports fan, always rooting for the Browns from the home he shared with his loving wife of over 59 years, Sharon.
Along with his wife, Tom is survived by two daughters, Sharri L. McDaniel and Dawn M. Spencer; three grandchildren; four great-grandsons; and so many wonderful friends.
A private cremation will take place per family wishes.
