BYRD, Manuel, age 91, of Centerville passed away Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Oak Creek Terrace, Kettering. He retired from Duriron (now Flowserve) after 37 years of service and was a member of the 3 C’s, where he was a volunteer in the 1930’s. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Bessie Byrd, sister, Deana Thacker and grandson, Steven J. Byrd. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Ollie Byrd; son, James M. (Myrna) Byrd of Centerville; daughter, Carol L. (Rufus) Cornett of Centerville; grandchildren, Bruce (Diana) Bowling, Kimberly (John) Florkey, Kellie (Kevin) Klein, Mindy and Justin Leiwig all of Beavercreek; great-grandchildren, Justin (Heather) Boyer, Bryan (Denna) Klein, Anna Bowling, Eric Klein, Elizabeth Bowling, Lindsey Klein, Emily Florkey and Ethan Florkey. The family wishes to express their many thanks for the wonderful care from the nurses, aids and housekeepers at Oak Creek Terrace and a special thanks to everyone at Hospice of Dayton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 12:00 noon at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, with Rev. Ronald Coleman officiating. Burial in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
