Manuel S. Stiakakis

Stiakakis, Manuel S. "Manny", age 64, of Oakwood passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton, on Friday, October 15, 2010 after a long valiant and inspiring battle with cancer; a battle he faced with dignity, perseverance and faith. He was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Manny was a proud native of Pittsburgh, PA. and graduate of Duquesne University with a BA degree in Business and Marketing. He had a long and successful sales career in office automation. Manny was loved as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend. Manny quietly taught many life lessons, among them 'Never give up hope' and 'how to carry yourself during the worst of circumstances'. His strength was infectious to the very end. Manny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Georgia Stiakakis; mother-in-law Ida Manos; nephew Ted Papalos. He is survived by his wife of 40 yrs, Christina; daughter Nicole (Doyle); son Andrew; and beloved granddaughter Katherine who always made him smile. He is also survived by sister MaryAnn (Steve) Callas; sister Stella Papalos; sister-in-law Mary (James) of Norwood of Ft. Worth, TX; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family wishes to thank those who traveled this journey with us and were with us at the journey's end. We are very thankful for your love and support. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 5:00-8:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Trisagion prayers at 6pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21st at 10:00am at Annunciation Greek Church, 500 Belmonte Park North, Dayton. Father Mark Emroll officiating.
