GASPER, Margaret “Maggie” Lee, age 73, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Margaret was born on January 8, 1951, to immigrant parents from Slovakia, Steve Joseph Gasper and Mary (Vargo) Gasper. The first in her family to attend college, Maggie graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Ohio State University and Capital Law School. After graduating, she relocated to Dayton where she served as a Magistrate at Dayton Juvenile Court serving the youth of the community with compassion.
Maggie’s wit and sense of humor was her hallmark. She filled her life with family and friends and was never without a book. She would - and often did - debate anyone, and was known to win arguments from both sides at various times. She adopted and fostered stray cats and worked with area organizations to place cats in loving homes.
Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Steve Gasper and Paul Gasper and a baby sister and her nephew, Rick Blessing. She is survived by her sister Rosemary Blessing (Richard), sister-in-law Mary Ann Gasper, nieces, Stephanie Raynish (Zak, Carter and Audrey), Michelle Nesbitt (Bob, Kyle and Evan), Karen Gasper, Denise Hoelscher (Greg, Matthew, Nathaniel, and Lucas), Eveleen Blessing (Lena and Erin), Patti Blessing (Tom Roesch, Alex, Abby and Gina).
