Margaret Shoemaker

SHOEMAKER, Margaret, “Peggy”, age 87, of Kettering passed away peacefully on April 5, 2007. Peggy was born on August 29, 1919 in Peru, IN, to William and Sara Church. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Mary Love and Jane Murray; 5 brothers, Chuck, Bill, John, Don and Fred Church. She is survived by her loving husband, “Gene,” to whom she was married for 62 years; 3 children of whom she was so proud, daughters, Gerry (Steve, who recently passed away) Cunningham, Ann Leonard (Lew Rakocy) and son, Charlie (Diane) Shoemaker; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who put others before herself and deeply affected all who came in contact with her. Her smile, touch and presence will be missed terribly and never forgotten. The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 10, 2007 from 1:00-3:00 PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. The Rev. Dr. Brooks Heck will celebrate Peggy’s life at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with burial to follow in David’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420 in Peggy’s memory. Condolences may be sent to the family via the website at www.routsong.com.
