Margery A. Beerbower

BEERBOWER, Margery A., age 89, of Kettering died September 4, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton. Margery was born May 16, 1924 in Columbus Ohio, the daughter of the late Paul and Harriett Benton. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1946 with Honors and Distinction. On September 8, 1946 Margery married Robert (Bob) Edwin Beerbower of Hicksville, Ohio. In 1963 Marge and Bob moved to Oakwood where they lived until moving to Kettering in 1991. After Bob's death in 2000, Marge continued to live an active and fulfilling life. Marge was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dayton. She was an active volunteer throughout her nearly 50 years of membership. Marge loved to travel not only to all 50 states but many countries in 5 continents. Her varied interests included gardening, and participating in flower shows winning numerous blue ribbons and several best of shows. As a golfer, she was an enthusiastic member of Dayton Country Club's 9-hole and 18-hole women's golf groups for many years. She played bridge regularly and was a proud member of The Alley Cats bowling team. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: John and Cynthia of Cambridge England, James and Susan of Tipp City, Jody and Michael Brumbach of Havertown, PA and Joyce Beerbower and Jan Wiewiora of Reston, VA plus 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to family, Margery found comfort in her varied and numerous friends and relationships. They knew no boundaries of age or background; no one was a stranger to Marge. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 125 N. Wilkinson Street, Dayton at 11:30 A.M on Friday September 13, 2013 followed by a reception.
