Margie Jean Spurrier

SPURRIER, Margie Jean, age 101, of Centerville, OH passed Thursday, March 16, 2023. Margie was born on July 11, 1921 to the late Clarence and Florence (Sturgeon) Aikin. She graduated high school in Indianapolis. Margie loved sewing, crafts, and playing cards at St Leonard’s, where she volunteered for over 20 years. She also ran the Oakleaf gift shop in Kettering for over 10 years. Margie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1986 and sister, Shirley Brake. She is survived by son, Wayne (Susan); daughter, Sharon (John) Griner; granddaughters, Amanda Smith, Beth Ocker, and Pam (George) Bours; and grandsons, Matt (Mary) and Mike Spurrier; and numerous great grandchildren. A special thank you to the staff at St. Leonard and Hospice of Dayton for their care and support. A visitation will be held from 10AM to 11AM on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at St. Leonard’s Chapel, 8100 Clyo Rd, Centerville, OH 45458, with a celebration of life to start at 11AM. Burial to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
