Marilyn J. Jankowski

JANKOWSKI, Marilyn "Pat" Jean Smith, age 82 of Centerville, formerly of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2009 in Walnut Creek Nursing Center. Pat was a native of Trotwood, OH and graduated from Trotwood Madison High School and Chatham College with a BA in Fine Arts. Pat was a volunteer for the Wright State Women's Group and also active in the Oakcreek UCC Refugee Resettlement Program. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Dr. Francis Jankowski in 2001. Pat and Frank retired to Albuquerque, NM in 1987 and spent their retirement enjoying the Southwest Indian culture. Pat is survived by her daughter, Beth Ellen Casteele and son-in-law Robert Casteele of Kettering, OH; two granddaughters, Nicole Casteele of Kettering, OH and Megan Casteele of Nashville, TN; brother, Carroll L. Smith "Bud" and his wife Patty of New Lebanon, OH; two nieces and one nephew; and special second cousin, Paul Wilson. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25th at 12:00 Noon at David's United Church of Christ. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service (11:00AM-Noon). Burial to follow in Eversole Cemetery, Brookville, Ohio. The family wishes to thank all the nurses and staff at Walnut Creek Nursing Center and Hospice of Dayton for their loving care of Pat.
