Marilyn Joyce Yonts

YONTS, Marilyn (nee Surdyk), age 67, passed away on March 15, 2011 at The Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. Marilyn was born April 21, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio. She was a graduate of Oakwood High School and the University of Dayton. Preceded in death by her parents Jerome and Tacy (Shirden) Surdyk; and two nephews David and Paul Surdyk. Marilyn is survived by her son Charles (Meg) Yonts of Brooklyn, NY; brother Robert (Peggy) Surdyk of Centerville; sister Carol (Dale) Lehmann of Pace, FL.; grandchildren Abigail Grace Yonts and Henry Frederick Yonts; and nieces and nephews Bevin Marie Surdyk, Jennifer Lehmann, Dale Lehmann III and Jerry Lehmann. She was employed by Michael S. Gurvey, M.D., in Miami, FL. for 30 yrs and returned to the Dayton area in 1997. Upon her return she worked in social services for several years, first at St. Joseph Orphanage (Dayton Office) and then the Dayton Area office of the Long Term Care Ombudsman. Above all, Marilyn treasured her family and her friendships. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering. Family will greet friends following the service until 4pm at the funeral home. Private interment in Calvary Cemetery.
