Marion Y. Zimmers

88, Bethany Lutheran Village, 6451 Far Hills Ave., #601, Centerville, OH, succumbed June 28, 2003 after a long and valiant struggle with stroke and heart disease. She was born in Springfield on Nov. 8, 1914, the daughter of Margaret Luella (McIntire) Young and Earnest Claude Young. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Bromley Zimmers in 1971, whom she married in 1940; her brother, Edward Alvin and wife, Eloise Young; sisters, Elva Anna and Celia Grace Young and Opal Lenore and her husband, Diomid Dean and sister, Echo Belle and her husband, William Homer Keppler; brother-in-law, Neal Zimmers; and great nephew, David Lee Lauderback. She is survived by a sister, Erma Louise, wife of the late William Patton of Mesa, AZ; nieces, Winifred E. Doersam of Kettering, OH, Marjorie M. Glass and her husband, William J. Glass of Arlington, VA, M. Gaye Lauderback and husband, P. Wayne Lauderback of Spotsylvania, VA, Elaine Johnson of Vandalia, OH; nephews, Earnest E. Keppler and wife, Joann (Champer) Keppler of Springfield, OH, Jerry A. Keppler and wife, Sandra (Wilson) Keppler of Springfield, OH, Nick Zimmers and wife, Dr. Ann Rogers Zimmers of Powell, OH, Craig Zimmers; and sister-in-law, Annabel Zimmers of Dayton, OH. Marion is also survived by cousin, Mary Boals of Columbus, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Marion has been a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church since 1956. She was also a member of ACACIA Chapter No. 358, Order of the Eastern Star and Dayton Women's Club. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 3, 2003, 11:00 AM, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH, followed by interment at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. The family of Marion is especially grateful for the loving care and companionship she received while living at Bethany Lutheran Village.
