EKEY, Martha Pearl, (Stoner) age 90 of Kettering, died peacefully in the arms of her beloved children, Glenn, Janet and David on June 13, 2006. A gifted painter and artist throughout her life, Martha was an avid golfer into her 80’s, a whiz at scrabble and crossword puzzles, and an active and contributing member of her community even after her move to Berkeley Square in Hamilton in 2003. A longtime resident of Kettering, where husband Ford (d. 1991) practiced law with Smith and Schnacke (now Thompson Hine), Martha devoted her time and talents to Fairmont Presbyterian Church, where she and Ford worshipped since 1950, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dayton Bar Association, the American Red Cross, and the City of Kettering. During the last six months of her life, one of Martha’s greatest joys was holding Connor Michael Ford Ekey, newborn son of David and Jennifer Ekey of Hamilton, who so lovingly cared for Martha during her final years. She is also survived by Glenn (Diane) Ekey and granddaughter Lauren of Miami, FL; and Janet (Rich) Ostrov and grandsons Toby and Jake of Saratoga Springs, NY. Memorial service Saturday, June 17 at 10 AM at Fairmont Presbyterian Church, Rev. Bob Wade officiating. Please remain for visitation following the service. Contributions may be made in Martha’s name to the Dayton Chapter of the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 517, Dayton, OH 45401-0517.Condolences may be sent to the family via the Routsong website at www.routsong.com.
