Martha Yvonne Monnin

MONNIN, Martha, 83 of Kettering passed away Tuesday morning May 19, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Dadisman and her son Gordon. She is survived by her husband Marion Monnin, daughters Yvonne (Richard) O'Hare, Elise (Mark) Laravie and her grandchildren Colleen O'Hare, Kevin (Krissy) O'Hare, Matthew, Josh and Corey Laravie, and her great-grandson Jackson O'Hare. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Michael (Carol) Monnin, Terry (Glen) Galloway, Ceceilia (Rocky) Jordache, Ann (Curt) Brewer, Marjorie (Ed) Bailey, Laura (Tom) Muskaluk, Joan (Ron) Callahan and all her step grandchildren. Martha graduated from The Good Samaritan Hospital nursing program and was a dedicated, caring nurse all her life. She was a founding member of the Charles F Kettering Memorial Hospital, where she was a nurse manager from 1979-1991, and where she continued to work in a part- time and volunteer capacity up until October of 2008. She was very dedicated to her long time parish St. Charles Church. She was involved in the Parish health ministry, and the bible study group. Martha was inducted into the Ohio Senior Citizen Hall of Fame in 2005. She also won the Outstanding Senior citizen award from the Montgomery County Council on Aging in 2004. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother and we will miss her smiling face and generous spirit. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd. Cincinnati, Ohio 45206. Family will receive friends from 6-8:00PM on Monday, May 25, 2009 at Routsong Funeral Home 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30AM Tuesday, May 26 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering.
