Marvin Dale Loomis

LOOMIS, Marvin Dale, age 64 of Centerville passed away, Sunday Sept. 21, 2008 at Heartland of Centerville. He was born on Oct. 4, 1943 in Dayton, OH to Clyde E. and Neva M. Loomis. Marvin was preceded in death by his father Clyde E. Loomis and infant brother Michael. Marvin was a graduate of Centerville High School and Sinclair Community College. Marvin retired in 1993 from Delco Moraine (Delphi) Division of General Motors Corporation after 30 years of service where he held many managerial positions in the Financial Division. He was General Motors' representative for establishing a Joint Venture with Japan's largest brake manufacturer in Elizabethtown, KY. and served on the Board of Directors as well as Chief Financial Officer. Marvin also was a member of the Board of Directors and served as Treasurer at Key Capri Condominium Association, Treasure Island, Florida. Marvin has spent the last 15 years at Booher Carpet Sales as office manager. Marvin is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Reinhilde "Roni" (Gross), mother Neva Loomis of Dayton, OH, brother David (Nancy) Loomis of Naperville, IL, many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and special friend Eleanor Jones of Bellaire Bluffs, FL who considered Marvin as a son. Marvin was devoted to his family and his many friends who treated him like family. To know him was to love him for his kind gentle nature and his great sense of humor. He loved golfing and boating at beautiful Lake Cumberland. Marvin was a member of Normandy United Methodist Church and former member of David's United Church of Christ. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in celebration of Marvin's life at 11:00 AM on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 W. Alex-Bell Rd, Centerville, OH with Rev. David Brown officiating, with a gathering following the service.
