BROWN, Marvin L., age 82, of Washington Township, passed away on April 3, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
He was born on May 10, 1932 to the late Lester and Emma (Petheram) Brown in Parke County, Indiana. He graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1950, served in the U.S. Army in Hawaii from 1953-1955, and returned to complete his degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in January of 1958.
He married Vivian Anderson of Bridgeton on April 30, 1955. Marvin worked at Systems Research Laboratories in Beavercreek, OH for many years and eventually retired from MacAulay-Brown, Inc. in 1998. Marvin was a man of many interests who enjoyed classical and bluegrass music, gardening, woodworking, baseball, fishing trips, mushroom hunting, and making homemade pickles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his older brother, Jack. Marvin is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Vivian Brown, brother Charles (Mary) Brown, daughter Kay (Neil) Webster, son David (Becky) Brown, and son Nathan Brown, grandchildren Andy (Jenn) Johnson, Emily Brown, Abigale Brown, Aric Brown, and Andreas Brown, great-grandsons Jace and Jax Johnson, and numerous other family members.
He was a member of the Bridgeton United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Brighton Gardens of Washington Township and Hospice of Dayton for the excellent care and compassion shown to Marvin.
