MANKER, Marvin Richard, age 68, formerly of Kettering, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011.
He was a graduate of Fairmont High School and attended the University of Dayton and Wright State University. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and worked as a map maker for the Corps of Engineers. Marvin was a past Sergeant in Arms at the Doorwood Optimist Club. He retired from Wright State University as a Purchasing Manager. Marvin attended St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. His humor and colorful personality will be missed by many.
Preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Margaret Manker and sister Judith Wolf. Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 40 yrs, Jonal Manker; sons, Michael Manker of Flandreau, SD and Mark Manker of Wilmington, NC; granddaughter, Ryan Manker; brother, John (Sandy) Manker of Kettering; sister, Jill (Nick) Thomas of Salt Lake City, UT; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will greet friends on Monday, May 16, 2011 from 6:00-8:00PM at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 17 at 12:00 Noon at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering. Burial in Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
