HIETT, Mary Ann, age 80, of Washington Township, passed away on May 17, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. May Ann was born on August 5, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI to the late William and Joan Engels.
She worked as a Registered Nurse, beginning her career at St. Mary's Hospital in Wisconsin and retiring from St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Dayton. Following retirement Mary Ann worked part time at St. Leonards and donated time to volunteer at Cox Arboretum. She was dedicated to serving others. Mary Ann was a member of Church of the Incarnation since 1976 and also a longtime member of Oakcreek South Garden and Women's Club.
She was a fantastic cook and avid camper. Mary Ann enjoyed driving from coast to coast in her RV and seeing all the beautiful sights of Alaska, the Grand Canyon, and Newfoundland, but her favorite place to visit was Dale Hollow, TN.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bill Hiett. Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John "Jack" Hiett; her beloved children, Mike Hiett and Joe (Terri) Hiett; and her cherished grandchildren, Chad, Chris, Jon, and Nick and great-grandson, Nolan.
Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
