Mary Evelyn Meyers

MEYERS, Mary Evelyn (nee Jones), age 92, of Kettering passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012. Preceded in death by beloved husband, Paul Joseph Meyers and son, Thomas Richard Meyers. Evelyn is the beloved mother of Daniel W. Meyers and Mary Jane (Peter) Donnellan, grandmother of Carolyn (Kevin) VanKannel, Ted (Caryn), Katie, and Maggie Donnellan, and great-grandmother of Grace, Grant, and Anna VanKannel. She is also survived by one brother, Charles Jones of Rockport, IL and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn grew up on a farm in Sedalia, MO. One of 8 children, she was raised in the house her grandfather built which is now listed in the National Register of Historic Places. She married her high school sweetheart, Paul, in 1944 while he was home on leave during WWII. They were very happily married for 54 years. Evelyn was an original member of Ascension Catholic Church and a lifelong Democrat. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30am on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Ascension Catholic Church, 2025 Woodman Drive, Kettering with a visitation one hour before the service also at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Evelyn supported many charities in her lifetime.
