RILEY, Mary F., age 84, of Kettering, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005. Mary was an outstanding leader in the community. Her contributions include being a board member and officer of the following boards: St. Elizabeth Medical Foundation, Dayton Council on World Affairs (Exec. Vice President, VP of International Visitors), National Committee for World Affairs Organizations (Secretary), Dayton Civic Ballet (Secretary), Friends of Dayton Ballet, Area Councils Service, Junior League of Dayton (Vice President), Occupational Therapy Society and 2 time Chairman and Co-founder of The Town Hall Series. Mary was a delegate to: the Association of Junior Leagues of America, the White House Conference on International Cooperation, the United Nations 20th Anniversary Conference and to the Foreign Policy Association Conference. She was also a longtime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the Dayton Country Club. Mary attended Miami University, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Early in her career, Mary worked for Procter and Gamble Co. in the Market Research Dept. traveling all over the country by train. Mary then took time out to raise her family. Subsequently, she was the Executive Vice President of the Dayton Council on World Affairs for 15 years. In 1960, she was chosen to be “Mrs. Holiday at Home Woman of the Year” because of her service to the community. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jack T. Riley in 1995. She is survived by her son, Jack T. Riley, Jr., wife, Kathy and grandchildren, Tom, Kevin, wife, Liz and Kate Riley; son, James M. Riley, wife, Vicki and grandson, Patrick Riley; and sister, Ruth Gertz. There will be a memorial service at 4PM on Saturday (today) at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 33 W. Dixon Ave., Oakwood. Mary’s family will greet friends in the cloister at St. Paul’s immediately following the service until 6PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 33 W.
