KOERNER, Mary Francis (nee Axmann, Morter), age 87, of Kettering, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010.
Mary was a graduate of Kiser High School and Sinclair Community College. She worked for Geo. A. Pflaum Publishing from 1951-1972 at which time she went to work for Third National Bank, retiring in 1978. Mary volunteered her time with the Kettering and Beavercreek Ukulelians, Southview Hospital and ‘U Can Profit’ Thrift Shop for CP.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Robert Morter; second husband Richard Koerner; and numerous brothers and sisters. Mary is survived by her son Bob (Carol) Morter; granddaughter Cindy (Eron) Schultz; great-granddaughter Alison Morter; grandson Rod Morter; great-granddaughter Brooke Morter; daughter Nancy Willis; grandchildren Kim Parsons and Chuck Willis; great-granddaughters Kacey and Hailey Willis; special family friends Jill Willis and Stephanie Morter; step-children Bill (Jan) Koerner, Ron (Cindy) Koerner, Karen and Patty Koerner. Mary has chosen to donate her body to the Wright State University School of Medicine.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 3:00PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 901 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to service also at the church. Rev. Thomas Prochaska will be officiating.
